Digital x-rays
X-Rays play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems. But many people are concerned about exposure to radiation. Your x-rays will still be taken only as necessary and as recommended by the ADA (American Dental Association). With our digital x-ray system, you scans will be safer, better, faster and smarter.
Safer: Computer Dental Radiography requires 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays.
Better: The digital images are as accurate as conventional x-rays and they reveal things film can’t. The image can be magnified 300x its normal size to enhance diagnosis, manipulated to correct contrast, and color adjusted to reveal hidden problems.
Faster: The digital system is instantaneous; no time is wasted processing and mounting x-ray film. The dental staff also spends more time with you discussing the health of your teeth.
Smarter: The digital system uses no film or chemicals, so we don’t have to discard hazardous processing waste or heavy metals from film foil.
Intra-oral digital photography
We capture photographic images digitally to diagnose, explain, document, and display the conditions inside your mouth. This tool allows you to actively participate in your treatment planning process because it allows you to see what the dentist sees.
Laser decay detection (Diagnodent)
We use new technology that detects hidden decay that can be eliminated in the early stages. Locating hidden decay in the sub surface of the tooth structure helps prevent the spread of caries and reduces the size of the cavity requiring a filling.
This unique instrument provides instant feedback on the health of the tooth. A pen-like probe simply glides over the tooth surfaces constantly checking the health of the tooth. A number scale and an alarm alerts the operator when there are signs of hidden decay. This new technology is completely safe and pain free.
Micro air abrasion
The Drill-less way to remove decay. This technology allows us to remove decay with a small beam of air one micro layer at a time. This procedure is performed without the use of local anesthetic so there are no shots and no drills. This reduces the natural tooth structure lost during traditional decay removal techniques.
Laser periodontal therapy
We provide laser-assisted periodontal therapy to selectively remove harmful microorganisms and damaged gum tissue. Providing a healthy surface for new cells to grow with also enable the gum tissue heals faster. See our section on Laser Dentistry for more information.
Digital temporomandibular joint analysis and bite scan
We use low frequency electrical muscle stimulation to relax the facial and chewing muscles for patients whose jaws are perpetually tight because of the way their upper and lower teeth fit together. We then digitally track the mandible or “bite” at rest and in motion to record the ideal relationships among the teeth, joints, and musculature. Once this relationship has been quantified, we can construct an appliance or reconstruct the dental arches to position the mandible in the appropriate position.
